Difficult situations and painful feelings are a reality for many of us. Sometimes we may not be able to makes sense of it all and feel unclear on how to move forward. Those situations may be overwhelming.
We may fall in a destructive patterns of behaviour, stuck in a rut, and this will hold us back. The support we have around us might not feel enough, as it is difficult to open up without feeling judged or misunderstood, it may feel frightening.
In this case professional counselling/therapy may be a way forward for you. This may offer a much needed fresh prospective, helping you to explore underlying issues that interfere with what you think, feel and do.
In my professional and personal experience I found that talking to someone who is trained to hear your concerns can be very helpful. In therapy one's inner experience can be witness with clarity, honesty and compassion.
Counselling can help individuals living with a wide range of difficulties, including:
-childhood and adult trauma
-loss and bereavement
-relationship and sexuality
-illness, pain and disability
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in working with culturally diverse clients, including: expats, refugees and asylum seekers, university students, young adults, survivors of abuse, people who suffer from PTSD and post traumatic stress.
This means taking into consideration the religion, gender-based dynamics and beliefs of the client, while offering counselling and psychotherapy services.
Predominantly, I offer open ended therapy, however short term counselling focused on a particular issue may be an option.
Recently on-line counselling has definitely been on the increase. Many people may feel that online counselling can be an additional option to face to face therapy. You may see this as the right option for a variety of reasons: it could be your line of work, disability, health issues, family commitments, location or other. I am experienced working online with people from different countries (time difference permitted) with a different range of issues. I use Skype or Zoom.Sessions last for 50 minutes. Some concessional rates are available depending on your circumstances. Please do not hesitate to ask.
